Veteran wide receiver Greg Jennings on Monday announced his retirement from the NFL after 10 seasons.
In a video posted on the FamiLeague channel on YouTube, Jennings said he was "done" with football and is "excited to be done."
"The past 20 years of my life has been football, but today that all changes," he says in the video.
"This smile is not going to be removed -- it's going to be enhanced. The same dedication, the same work ethic that I put into pursuing that sport, this game, I'll be pursuing everything else with the same mindset," he said.
Jennings, 32, said, "physically I know I can do it, I can still play ... but I feel like as though I would be going back to football instead of moving forward."
He ends the video by saying, "I'm done, but I'm just getting started. Let's do it."
Jennings had a quiet season in 2015 with just 19 receptions for 208 yards and one touchdown -- the 64th of his career -- in his only season with the Miami Dolphins.
He signed with the Dolphins last year following his release from the Minnesota Vikings, who cut ties with him after just two seasons. He had signed with Minnesota in 2013 (a five-year, $45 million deal), saying he wanted a fresh start after playing his first seven seasons with the Green Bay Packers.
But after playing with four different starting quarterbacks in his two seasons in Minnesota, Jennings caught just 127 passes for 1,546 yards and 10 touchdowns.
In seven seasons with the Packers after being selected in the second round of the 2006 draft (52nd overall), Jennings caught 425 passes for 6,537 yards and 53 touchdowns.
He was selected to the Pro Bowl twice and finishes his career with 571 receptions for 8,291 yards and 64 touchdowns.
Greeeeegggg Jennings, puts the team on his fucking back do! Man, after hearing of his retirement I must say, it was very much bittersweet. He was a staple of the Packer offense for 7 very good and productive seasons. He battled injuries throughout his time in Green Bay but he had a knack for getting open in tight windows and making some fantastic catches, namely Super Bowl 45. For that, I will always be grateful for his contributions and making me drink countless beer bongs and shots as a happy Packer fan!
He was also a whiny little bitch who with time, became a problem in the locker-room. He would complain about not seeing the ball as much as he would like (typical diva receiver) but the best part was in 2013 when he had these comments about Aaron Rodgers AKA the man who got Greg Jennings paid.
“For me, I’m such a team person, I’m going to defer to my teammates. I’m going to defer to the team, to the team, to the team. And I think when you reach a point where you’re not deferring any longer, it’s no longer really about the team.”
Jennings then reportedly “paused and looked around,” perhaps because he feared Rodgers was lurking in the corner with a sock full of pennies.
“Don’t get me wrong, ‘12’ is a great person,” Jennings said. “But when you hear all positives, all positives, all positives all the time, it’s hard for you to sit down when one of your teammates says, ‘Man, come on, you’ve got to hold yourself accountable for this.’ It’s hard for someone to see that now because all they’ve heard is I’m doing it the right way, I’m perfect. In actuality, we all have flaws.” PFT
Can you sense the jealousy at all? This guy was a complimentary receiver without the likes of Brett Favre or Aaron
Rodgers throwing him the football. You need not look any further than his shitty career after leaving the Packers for that evidence. A dynamic receiver can make a shitty QB into a serviceable QB and that was simply not the case with Jennings. It is a classic case of a diva wide receiver over valuing themselves and being a forgotten soul in the end. In fact, I already thought Jennings retired right after the 2014 season, that is how irrelevant he had become.
Enough bashing on Greg Jennings for the time being, let's move on to his loudmouth sister, shall we? The real straw that broke the camels back. Unless you were living under a rock, everyone remembers this bitch sounding off on twitter. I have to admit, pulling these tweets up made my blood boil and this was four years ago!
Valyncia (an absolute mockery of the beautiful city of Valencia Spain's spelling) ought to be thanking her lucky stars he had a good QB and organization that allowed her brother to get paid by another team. I am sure she is living off some of those green backs he got from the Queens.
Letting bygones be bygones, Greg Jennings is sure to be in the Packers HOF in the coming years and I will all but guarantee he ends up on either ESPN or the NFL Network. He will either do a one on one interview with Rodgers and will act like all is well or he will drum up even more controversy when talking about Aaron Rodgers to boost the ratings. I will continue to hate hate him at that point, but as for now, I am willing to remember the good times. Afterall, he did break his fucking leg for the Green and Gold!

Causally sitting on my couch watching highlights of Super Bowl 45 and my pal down south just went half mast! I need another Super Bowl and I need it now!
