According to an NBC news article, there could be a breakthrough hangover cure in the form of ice cream! What more can an American want?! We are already obese as fuck, we LOVE our alcohol, and ice cream and our beautiful cows are as American as a slice of granny's apple pie. So you're telling me I can have my liquid cake and eat it too? What a time to be alive! According to the article, a convenience store chain in South Korea launched the Gyeondyo-bar, which they say translates to, "hang in there" (Really? Get more creative Korea) and according to the company is the first ice cream bar made specifically to help cure hangovers. It hit the shelves on Friday.
First off, I am pretty sure you are mandated to take naps at work on the clock, in Korea. So basically they can get as hammered as they want the night before and can nap the whole goddamn day away. Now they create this?! Is America really this far behind the times? Kudos to Korea for basically eliminating any reason for alcoholics to EVER stop drinking, assuming this little treat works. You show up disheveled and smelling of alcohol in America, and you will get your ass booted faster than you can take another shot of Jameson. In Korea, you are probably offered a pillow, a furry blanket, the ice cream bar, and a raise. Let's get serious, America is still the best, but I think Korea may be onto something with this one. My guess is that this ice cream would not cure an American hangover. I just assume Asians probably get drunk on far less alcohol than us fatties in America. They are probably keeled over on the ground after two shots of Rum Chata and holding their friends hair back after four beers. In America we take our drinking seriously, so it only makes sense that we get first dibs at this new invention. If it works on us, we can then constitute this as a viable product. Korea should ship us a couple crates of these bars, we feed them to people on flights back from Vegas and the entire state of North Dakota and check for an update the next day. I have my doubts, but I am not one to turn down ice cream for such an enormous pandemic like this one. Alan approved!
